EcoFolio is a private non-profit company set up in December 2006 and approved in January 2007 which has been entrusted by the French government with a mission of general interest, namely contributing to protecting the environment.

EcoFolio acts as a link between three stakeholders: companies that generate paper (prospectuses, catalogues, directories, free advertising press, etc.) and that make a financial contribution, local authorities that collect and process paper and consumers who sort their waste.

EcoFolio’s mission is therefore economic, environmental and consumer-focused.

EcoFolio records contributions, which already make up 95% of relevant stocks. This is a record rate for such a young eco-organisation, which has a budget of EUR 33 million in contributions in a full year. This success fully benefits local authorities, as EcoFolio pays out grants according to tonnage contributed.

In signing EcoFolio’s standard agreement, local authorities can now benefit from additional financial support. This is added to income from manufacturers paid by take-back firms.
